Mavericks MUST win in San Antonino

By Katrina King

The Dallas Mavericks must get a win in the Alamo City tonight in game 6. It's imperative...they must come out strong on defense and offense. A good friend of mine and former coach, Bob Ortegal always say you have to run and shoot the ball and defend and rebound to win ballgames.
The Mavs need to do just that to win game 6 and bring the game back to Dallas on Saturday night.. If not, they go home.
Mavericks guard Caron Butler had this to say; "We came out and did a great job on both ends of the floor. We protected the paint, got stops and get out to our fast breaks."
In game 5 against the Spurs, Butler scored a season high 35 points, he took charge of the game and carried the team on his back. He spoke on his offensive game, " I was just aggressive at all times; I wasn't second guessing myself so if the shot was there I was taking it. Jason Kidd and all of my teammates did a great job of finding me in rhythm, our backs are against the wall and we don't want to go home yet".

Thanks God, Coach C started Brendan Haywood instead of Erick Dampier. The line up produce a win, although Coach Carlise played it down a little bit. " We've had leads in previous games, so it is not like the lineups we used in previous games were necessarily bad or anything like that. It just seemed like the right time to make this move. It is a little bit different kind of player. Coach Carlise goes on to say, " Damp has been giving us great defense and rebounding and stuff. Brendan (Haywood) is just a little bit different type of player and I thought he responded well. When I talk to Damp about the decision, he was great. He is going to be ready. I thought long and hard about it. Damp has been such an important part here and we are going to continue to need him. He just said hey I'm ready. So it was great. I thought Haywood responded well to the opportunity. Hey, going back down there, the environment is going to be a lot different. We have our work cut out for us".

Rangers take on the Chicago White Sox

By Katrina King

The Rangers(10-11) take on the Chicago White Sox(8-13), this hot afternoon at the Ballpark in Arlington.. Actually it's about 78 degrees. But when you're in the sun it feels hotter. Fans are out enjoying the game on this sunny spring day. Families, babies, toddlers, grandmother and granddad. In fact, as I was parking , I glanced over at an elderly couple driving their Gran Torino and lowering a Rove Around wheelchair from their vehicle. I've often wondered, how on earth are all theses fans off from work. Most of the fans, I've seen so far, appears to retired.
I'm high above the home plate a great view. In the my presence is legendary Nolan Ryan, he's chatting with other media personnel and enjoying the view from the press box. A small group of 10-12 people stop by on a tour and say hello to the hall of famer. He's asking questions and making jokes. One student remembers him throwing a no hitter on her birthday. "You threw a no-hitter on my birthday" the fans says. Mr Ryan asked: "When is your birthday?" She answered June 11th."He is gracious to them and is happy to accomodate ALL of their wishes..
The Ranges will play 9 innings this afoernoon against the White Sox. Seeking three straight wins, the Rangers have already secured a winning record at home. With a team win today, the Rangers could match longest win streak of the season. #12 Justin Smoak, hits a home run for the home team. At the end of the fourth Texas 3, Chi White Sox 1.

Listen up ladies....baseball is not just for the men.. A good way to keep your significant other interested try watching and learning about sports in the Southwest.
Wont get a chance to talk with Rangers manager, Ron Washington, must leave early today. The Rangers are off to a good start, a home room was scored by Rangers #39Julio Borbon, out fielder. Rangers have 2 home runs in the third inning, 2 out.

Spurs lead series 3 games to 1

By Katrina King

The Dallas Mavericks return home to Dallas on Tuesday to face the San Antonio Spurs for Game 5. Spurs lead the series 3-1. Looks like the Mavs are going home early. Even if they win at home on Tuesday night, Spurs is still up by three wins. A strong possibility that the Mavs will be swept in game 5.
