Dallas Cowboys pick Dez Bryant in NFL Draft

By K. King

In the 20101 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys pick Dez Bryant from Oklahoma, a wide out in the second round.

"When I fell to the Cowboys, that's the best thing that ever happened to me," he said. "I'm so happy I got picked and it doesn't matter where I got picked. I'm excited and I'm ready to go to work." says Dez Bryant, the Lufkin, Texas, native.
The Cowboys ,traded up three picks in Thursday's first round of the NFL Draft - from No. 27 to No. 24 - to grab the gifted, embattled Oklahoma State wide out who watched his stock drop over the past months.
Cowboys owner and general manager believes in giving talented and sometimes trouble youth (not saying that Dez Bryant is a trouble youth, however he does come from a disadvantage childhood), a chance of a lifetime. Bryant will be wearing number 88 this season, a jersey Hall of Fame's Drew Pearson and Michael Irvin wore. When a reporter asked Dez about the history of the number and its significance he didn't have a clue. Did not know to much about Drew Pearson playing days and was familiar with Michael Irvin. When Drew Pearson played for the Dallas Cowboys Dez Bryant probably wasn't born yet. When Michael Irvin played for the Cowboys, Dez Bryant was probably a toddler or playing little league football.
Anyway, the fans will definitely see this season just how well Dez Bryant will perform.
