LeBron James, Shaq Cavaliers Tonight!

The last time these two ball clubs met was during preseason exhibitions games. Shaquille made the trip but did not play, wanted to rest. LeBron James made his appearance during pregame warmups, like Shaq, he chose not to play.

In the last meeting, Mavs won. In their second meeting in Cleveland, the Cavaliers won. The ball is in Dallas court tonight, interesting to see what the Mavs will do with it. Meanwhile, Mavs Dirk Nowitzki left the game with 9minutes to go in the second quarter. He and Houston's Carl Landry collided together causing Landry to lose three teeth and transported to a local Dallas hospital, and Nowitzki received 3 stitches in his elbow. Likely, he'll be in the starting line up tonight.

Rockets beat the Mavs in overtime 12/18/09

Wow! This was a good game. Even the floor photographers were ohing and awing. When the players fell, we love it! Our cameras went click, click, click. Great Mavs basketball! This game was championship caliber, Aaron Brooks, Lowery, Ariza dominated the Rockets offense.

For Dallas, JJ Barea scored 23 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in 35 minutes. He's a bad boy! JJ comes off the bench with great enthusiasm ready to grind. He has hustle, heart, passion and knowledge of the game. Houston jump out strong on the Mavs, held the lead most of the game until 4th quarter.

Quotes:

Mavs Shawn Marion:
"They came out very aggressive and after they got the lead early in the 2nd quarter and they lead the entire game until we made that run in the 4th. It was a very physical game out there, there were a lot of things going on, a heated game and a game we could have won but we fought to the end. We just couldn't pull it out in overtime."

For Houston, Kyle Lowery is just a tough competitior all over the floor and that's the kind of defener you want on the floor. He scores, he hustles, he helped lead his team to a 116-108 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

The fourth-year point guard set a new career-high with 26 points. Kyle was terrific,” said Rockets’ Head Coach Rick Adelman after the game. “He’s just a tough competitor and he’s always going to give you 100 percent and tonight he was making shots, making plays and that is kind of what we’ve been getting: someone different off the bench has been stepping in and doing the job.”
Quotes:

Rockets KYLE LOWRY :
"Down the stretch and in overtime we just wanted to win the game any way we could. We went out there and did what we could do. Me and Aaron were getting open and hitting shots. It was a great team win and I know we’re happy. We have a good team. Everybody is unselfish, everyone likes each other and we know we have to go out there and play harder than the other team and that’s what we try to do every single night.
We knew the history of it, we just wanted to go out there and get the lead and just play hard and not let what they did to us the last two times happen again.

Jason Kidd got into a small scuffle, Tim Thomas stepped in along with several others on the floor to make sure nothing got outta hand. Dallas Tim Thomas would later redeemed himself with a three pointer. Erick Dampier had 9 points with 14 rebounds, 7 of those were offensive boards with 3 blocks in 32 minutes. Wow! Didn't know Erick had it in him, he's showing fans each game, he can be force to be reckoned with.
When Dampier first became a Dallas Maverick, he reminded me of former Maverick center, James Donaldson. All height, no hands and no hustle. Clearly, Damp has made a conscious effort to improve his game, or was healthy competition (Gooden, Humphries) that made the difference. The game is his 5th of the season with 14+ rebounds.

Dampier was ejected from the game with 1:01 to go in overtime after being assessed his 2nd technical foul. So was coach Rick Carlise. Carlise was hit with a technical after disagreeing with a call the officials made. Must watch the officials. They will cheat

Rockets, Tracy McGrady played 7 minutes and scored 2points.. Not much action from Tracy, he sat on the bench enjoying the game looking around and making some kids night by throwing up the peace sign acknowledging them yelling out his name. Rockets guard, Aaron Brooks burned the Mavs for 25 pts and teammate Kyle Lowery scored 26 minutes in 38 minutes.

Injury Update:

Mavericks Dirk Nowitzki and Rockets Carl Landry both left the game at the 9:28 mark of the 2nd quarter after a collision on the Mavericks baseline. Nowitzki received treatment to a right elbow laceration that included 3 stitches. X-rays taken of the area were negative. Landry was taken to an area emergency room to have 3 broken teeth treated. Ouch!!

Spurs Hosts Celtics at the AT&T Center

San Antonio, Tx - It's a cold night in San Antonio, the famous river walk is decorated with Christmas lights and San Antonionians are enjoying the cold crisp night while being canoed down the famous river walk. Tim Duncan and the Spurs hosts Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics at the AT & T Center. It's play-off atmosphere in the building and it's just the first half. Defense stops on both teams sizzles, so much so, the adrenaline have the players falling over each other.

Ray Allen and the Celtics are holding the Spurs to a low scoring first half. Boston defense is solid,
however, the Spurs seemed to struggle getting their offensive game under control. For the Celtics, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen were the dominant forces both defensively and offensively.

Antonio McDyess along with Richard Jefferson were acquired last summer to add physical presence and scoring depth to the Spurs bench. Tony Parkers' game was average, not his best game and Tim Duncan committed six turnovers. Spurs struggle in this ballgame against the Celtics.

With a few new faces, three of them starters, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has the task of rotating playing time among these guys. Duncan and Parker are learning with each practice and game how to play and adjust to the new starters Antonio McDyess and Richard Jefferson. So far so good.

In player news: During the Thanksgiving holiday, Celtics' Ray Allen and his family spent the holiday in the hospital emergency with their son, who suffers from diabetes complications. According to NBA source, his son is doing fine and is resting at home. watchin' his dad play against the Spurs.

Mavs, Shawn Marion back in starting lineup...too soon

Shawn Marions' ankle is still tender, yet, he was in the starting lineup against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road. Shawn Marion suffering from sore ankle.

Dallas Mavericks, Shawn Marion return off the injured list in the game against Houston. Shawn twisted his ankle a couple of weeks against the Milwaukee Bucks in Milwaukee. He sat out the last two games giving his ankle a rest. He return to playing time in the Mavs game against Houston and played full court press. Mavs beat Houston by 31 points, their 4th win on the road. Obviously, Shawn's ankle was tender then.

In the game against Indiana Pacers, he started and played until early 4th quarter where he began limping. He didn't play the remainder of the game in the Mavs win against the Indiana Pacers 113-92.
Shawn stop rushin' the healing process. Allow your body to take its time to heal.

Dirk Nowitzki named Western Conference Player of the week

Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki was named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played Nov. 9-15. Nowitzki earns the honor for the first time this season and for the 11th time in his career.

Nowitzki led the Mavericks to a 3-1 week with a win at home against Houston followed by a pair of road victories in Minnesota and Detroit. Nowitzki averaged 24.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 blocks with a pair of double-doubles in that span. Nowitzki made 26 of his 27 attempts from the free throw line including consecutive games (vs. Houston, at San Antonio) in which he went 10-for-10.

In the Mavericks’ 89-77 win at Minnesota on Friday, Nowitzki recorded his fourth double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds in 29 minutes. The 12th year pro had 15 points, six rebounds and three blocks in the third quarter as the Mavericks led by as many as 21 points in the period.

Nowitzki ranks among NBA leaders in scoring, free throw percentage and blocks per game. He leads the Mavericks (7-3 overall) in scoring, double-doubles (4) and minutes (37.5).
